The 14th Dec. Inter-Ministerial Group Meeting discussed the modalities of proposed IMPRINT-India Projects as per MHRD Memo dated 4th Nov., 2015. As per the finalized minutes of the meeting:
The nature of these projects shall be technology-oriented and for application of science in day-to-day life and they shall be for translation of innovative ideas/knowledge into viable technology (product or process) and shall not be meant for only open ended fundamental research.
All the Centrally Funded Technical Institutions shall be eligible to submit the research proposals. There will be a separate portal for submission of proposals for research under http://www.imprint-india.org. There would be a two-stage verification of the proposals.
There will be strong monitoring system for the projects sanctioned under this program that includes information dissemination by periodic e-Newsletter and website, annual fare and conference.
The crux of these projects is the inter-Ministerial coordination in identification of the areas for research and in evaluating, sanctioning of the projects and finally in sharing the cost of research.
